Something a little different...
Hi, guys! I'm back from helping out at the Minnesota Stamp & Scrapbook Expo and felt inspired to share a project I made back in 2014. At the time I was designing for Spellbinders Paper Arts and was asked to use their dies to decorate CAKES with! I am a Wilton Method Instructor (not currently active) and the idea of using dies to decorate cakes was so exciting. I had already been using embossing folders to emboss the fondant with and I had been wanting to try out die cutting sugar sheets.
Anyway, being at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo and working alongside the amazing Lorraine Ungeheier, I discovered that when she is ready to hand out the ever coveted Golden Tickets, she dons on this SUPER cute steampunk hat!!! It is truly fabulous and makes the moment of passing out the Golden Tickets that much more exciting and fun. :)
Well, I think you'll see why I wanted to share this little project with you! So, without further ado, Lorraine, this one's for you! :)
So, fun, huh?! So, everything you see is EDIBLE! Since this was for a design project and not a party where it would be eaten, I created it around a styrofoam base but everything else was made using sugar sheets, fondant or cookies (for the goggles)! LOL!
The dies used to create this flower is: S5-050 Rose Creations.
The feather is die: S4-429 Feathers.
All of those amazing gears were diecut using S5-048 Sprightly Sprokets.
I also used S4-116 Standard Circles Small to crate the lenses of the goggles. :)
Is that not fun, or what? Well, I certainly had fun creating it! :)
I hope this inspired you to get out there and get creative! I know you have all sorts of fun craft supplies just waiting to be put to good use! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
