Candy Hearts Shaker Card

Y'all I must be on a shaker card kick!  Lol!  Today I have a fun card that was inspired by a few projects I saw on Pinterest (of course!)

Aren't shaker cards fun?  :)  They are too hard to make either!

Instructions
1.Stamp the jar image from Fun Stampers Journey's "Homemade" stamp set in the center of a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" piece of cardstock.

2.Stamp again on a similar size piece of acetate (I used a piece of plastic packaging I had in my stash).  Make sure to stamp with a steady hand and to heat set it so that it won't smear.

3.Using a craft knife, cut out the center of the jar.

4.Adhere stamped acetate to the back.

5. Ink up just the lid part of the jar stamp and stamp onto a piece of silver foil paper, then cut out.  You will need to heat set this piece as well, then adhere on top of cardstock lid.

6. Create a border using thick foam squares.  I trimmed mine to make them fit and then placed the candy heart pieces upside facing the acetate.

7.Place a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base on top, being careful to line it up properly.  Using our Fun Stampers Journey Grid Paper made that super easy!  :)

Heart-shaped Shaker Embellishment

If you read my previous post you saw the heart-shaped treat box I made for a Scor-Pal challenge.  To embellish the box I created a heart-shaped shaker embellishment that I wanted to share the tutorial for.  :)

Instructions
1. Using the Fun Stampers Journey "Heart-felt" die set, die cut two #4 hearts (with #1 being the smallest die in the set) in Cranberry Bliss, one in a piece of plastic (I use old packaging!) and one in white.

2. Using one of the #4 die cut hearts, place die #1 in the center and send through your die cutting machine.

 3. Adhere the outline heart to the acetate heart die cut using quick drying liquid adhesive.

4.Stamp the "you plus me" sentiment to the center of the white heart.

5. Trim foam squares to fit around the inside edge of the outline heart.  This will act as a wall to keep the confetti from coming out.

6. Pour in about half a teaspoon of Candy Apple confetti sparkle elements.

7.  Using a few inches of Journey Twine, create a loop and adhere to the back of the white heart.  To cover the loop, adhere the second red heart to the back to cover it up.

8. Now, take the backing off the foam tape and adhere the piece just created to close and create the shaker.

And that's it!  You can attach this to a Valentines gift to add that extra special touch!

Heart Box

Today I am joining the Scor-Pal team in their February "More than one Score" challenge, "Hearts a Flutter."  The short and sweet of it is to create a project with more than one score line, with a heart theme!  There are fun prizes to be had so make sure to join in on the fun!  Go HERE for more details.  :)

Looks like a store bought chocolate candy box doesn't it?  It's not!  A couple of heart die cuts and a few strips of scored and cut paper, along with some adhesive will give you this adorable box!  :)

Instructions
1. Die cut two Fun Stampers Journey: Heart-Felt hearts (second largest in the set).
2. Cut a strip of cardstock to be 2" x 7" and another to be 2" x 8".
3. Using your Scor-Pal, score both strips length-wise at the 1 1/2" mark, as shown below.

5.Turn horizontally and score 1/2" in on both ends. (Note: the picture below was taken after I scored the ends 1/2" on both ends, and had placed it back into a vertical position.)

6. Fold on the score line and cut up the longer 1/2" score line to make a "fringe" as shown below.

7. Apply quick drying liquid adhesive to one side of one of your die cuts.

8. Adhere the 2 x 7 strip of cardstock, fringe side down along the curve of the heart.

9. Adhere 2 x 8" strip along the second side of the heart, using quick drying liquid adhesive.  Adhere the 1/2" tabs to inside of strip already adhered as shown below.

10. First section is complete!  Make sure to rub off any excess, dried glue!  :)

11. Create the bottom of the box the exact same way but with the width of the strips being 1/4" shorter.  Dimensions would be: 1 3/4" x 7" and 1 3/4" x 8".

12. To finish your basic heart, die cut two of the largest Heart-Felt heart dies and adhere them to base of each section of the box.

To create a "cleaner" finish, cut the third largest die from the Heart-Felt set and adhere inside each section to cover up the fringe.

And we're done!

Decorate as desired! Stay tuned for a tutorial on how to make this cute shaker embellishment I created!
