Halloween Treat Box

Hi, there!  October is here and so is a bit of cooler weather around this part of the Texas! (and there was much rejoicing!)

Today I am joining the lovely ladies at Scor-pal for our monthly "More Than One Score" challenge.  This month's theme, as you might have guessed, is Treat Boxes.  Go HERE to check it out and play along, you might just win a prize!

 1. Cut two pieces of patterned paper to 6" x 9",  and using your Scor-Pal, score each piece at 1 1/2",  3" and 6 1/4" on the longest side as pictured below.

 2. Then, turn to shortest side and score at 1/2" and 3 1/4".

 3. Add Scor-Tape on top of one of the 6x9 pieces along the 1/2" scored edge, and adhere both 6x9 pieces, as shown in the pictures below.

If you have a distinct pattern to your paper, make sure to line the edges properly so that the pattern matches on both sides.

4. Create the bottom flaps by cutting along the scored lines 2 3/4" in, as pictured below.

 5. Cut off the small 1/2" x 2 3/4" just created.

 6. Cut out two top sections as shown below, using your previously scored lines as guides.  This will create the top handles of the treat box. The measurements for the cut-outs are 3" in and 2 3/4" across.

 7. Fold your treat box template so that the two top handles are together as shown below and, using a circle punch, punch out a circle in the center of the first scored section.

Your treat box template should now look like this.

8. Fold on the scored lines of the handles, and add Scor-Tape to 1/2" flap on the left of your template as shown below.

 9. Remove backing of Scor-Tape and adhere template sides together as shown below.

It's coming together!

10. Fold the bottom flaps of the box in and apply Scor-Tape to the last flap and adhere to close box.

Your treat box is now ready to embellish!!!
