Bezel Birds Tutorial

Hi, everyone!  Today Linda Peterson is featuring my Bezel Birds on the Spellbinder's Mixed Media Monday video!  I'm thrilled to have my birdies being featured by Linda!  During our booth creation week, Linda challenged us to create some pieces for her Mixed Media side of the booth.  I came up with the idea to make cute little birdies by joining different shaped bezels together and adding some wire to make the feet.

Here Linda and I are posing by the birds in her Mixed Media room at CHA.  :)

Check out her video!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Simple Treat Bag Tutorial

Hi, everyone and welcome!  Today I am joining the Scor-Pal girls in our new monthly challenge called "More Than One Score". Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects for all to see.  :)  We will have a winner for each challenge and they will receive a fun surprise package from the Scor-Pal store--sweet!  Make sure to go to the Scor-Pal blog to get all the official challenge rules and to enter!!!

This month's theme is flowers, so I made a simple treat bag and placed a gorgeous rose on top to be its main focal point.  :)

Valentine's Treat Bag

Simple Treat Bag Picture How-To

1. First, trim you patterned paper to 12" x 7".
(The pic shows it trimmed down to 7 1/2" but I went back and trimmed the 1/2" off, my mistake!)
2. Using your Scor-Pal, score on the patterned side at 4", 6" and 10".

3. Cut  the bottom right section out, leaving the bottom flap to be 2" W  x 5" L, and the top main section (the side walls of the bag) to be  12"W x 5 1/2"L.
4. Not pictured: Turn paper vertically (with the 12" side lining up with the left edge of the board) and score at the 5" mark.  This creates the separation of the bottom flap and the little flaps that will be used to adhere the bag together.

 5. Cut a strip of pattern paper to 5" by 1", score it down the middle and adhere it to sidewall section of your paper as shown above.  This flap will be the final step in creating the bag.

6. Place stripes of Scor-Tape along the flaps as shown in the picture above.

7. Score on the blank or opposite side of your pattern paper in between your two inch wide sections. This will allow for your bag to open and close easily.

8.Start adhering your bag together by folding the bottom flap up then adhering the little sidewall flaps on top of it as shown above.

9. Your final adhering step will be to adhere sidewall 1  flap to the sidewall 2.  With that, your simple treat bag is now complete!

Use your Scor-Pal and mark each half inch across at the half inch mark shown above.

I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes at each mark.

Here you can see how I used the holes to thread some pink ribbon through to
"close" the bag with.  You can also see the side wall flap that was the final step in creating the bag.

That gorgeous rose will be showing up in a tutorial soon! The frame was made using Spellbinder's new die set Labels 38.

Pattern Paper: Recollections "Valentine"
Stamp set: Layers of Color "The Love Chapter" (retired set)
Black, red, and green card stock: Gina K Designs.

 Blessings to you all,
