The Focal Point Challenge

Hi, everyone!  I'm happy to say that I'm back at it!  Today I have a card I made for Moxie Fab World: Card Design Handbook Week: The Focal Point Challenge.  Goodness, that's a mouthful!

Go check out the challenge HERE to get all the details.  In short, we were to create a card where there is a very obvious and clear focal point.  Here is what I came up with:

So, I'm thinking my focal point is pretty obvious!  The blank space along with the thin ribbon and sentiment draw your attention to the flower bouquet.

I chose to color the Coast Rhododendron as close to real life as possible so I chose this mix of red Copic markers: R00, R20, R21, R22, R24, R27 and R89.  For the leaves I used G21, G24 and G28.

That lovely image is from  a Gina K Designs stamp set illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger, called Stately Flowers 4.  Melanie has started a series of sets that showcase each state's flower!  Not only that but she has a super cute set with travel themed sentiments on it that is simply a perfect match to these sets---I love them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I have a few more cards showcasing this lovely set coming right up!  :)
