Gina K Designs: Dreams and Birthday Bash

Hi and Welcome back everyone!
Today we have two wonderful sets to show off: Dreams by Tami Mayberry and Birthday Bash by Rupa Shevde!
First up, Dreams:

Here is some inspiration for you using Dreams:
I used the new Crate Paper DP called Portrait Collections and a Maya Road flower to tie it all together.  The frame, butterflies and sentiment just work perfectly together!

Next up is, Birthday Bash:
 Isn't it adorable?

And my inspiration for you:
I just couldn't resist using this adorable image for my card!  It is just too cute!  I used October Afternoon DP and some fabulous GinaK ribbon!  I color the image using my Prismacolor pencils.

Now head on over to the rest of the DT blogs for more inspiration!  Don't forget to comment on each blog for a chance at a free GinaK stamp set!

Adventures in Sewing Vinyl Update! :)

Well, HI, everyone!  I had the pleasure of having my mom come and visit for a day and guess what we tackled? The other vinyl cover of course!  Smile
So, my original cover ended up needing some reinforcement after it was well tested by my two lovely boys.  As I had thought, the middle seam was just not strong enough to support all the pressure being applied to it and it ripped.  I thought some good clear duct tape would do the trick but alas, only a re-sew would do.
For the second chair, we came up with a design that does not have a seam in the middle, only on the sides, so we are fairly certain that their will be no tearing.
I wish I had taken in process photos but I didn’t so the Grand Finale pics will have to do.  Winking smile
Alright, I present to you, the final look to my friend Genny’s gorgeous chairs:
The new chair as you can see, has a few creases in the vinyl as it was folded and put
put away until I was able to get to it.  I’m hoping they will eventually fade.

Ok, get ready!!! Here is a little peek a the new bow!!!!!

On this card I used many of the stamps from Vogue Vases as well as two stamps from Border Bling (up next!).  I also used the dotted paper from the fabulous new StampTV kit.

Now for Border Bling by Melanie Muenchinger!

SO fun, huh?  Here is the card I made using it:

One great thing about this set is that it coordinates with Spellbinders dies!  And that fabulous ribbon?  Straight from the StampTV kit!  Gorgeous, huh?

    Bloom & Bee Swanky

Ok, letting you in on one of my loves--vintage anything!  Whites, creams, browns and greens---love!  Recently a friend of mine to me to one of the coolest vintage stores I've ever been to--in Waco, TX even!  Store name: Bloom & Bee Swanky  What is it?  Heaven---ah, I mean a home furnishings vintage boutique.  You can find just about anything fun and vintage to decorate your home with.  So, the sweet ladies let me take a few pictures and even said I could share them on my blog. So, here are a few (quite a few!) pictures of things I loved!

LOVE this arrangement.  I'm loving all things with branches in it so no wonder i fell in love with this piece.

This won't be the first white thing you will see pictured here.  I'm telling ya, white (and all its vintage shades) is my new favorite color.  I just thought this hutch (?) was lovely.

I just thought these little hands were cute.  A little odd but cute. ;)

The trays.  AND the gorgeous burlap pillow that you can't really appreciate in this picture.  I love burlap by the way.

That thing in the background with all the handles--LOVE!!!  Can you imagine all the fun crafty things I could store in there?!

Of course, I really love how the display their vintage wears at B&BS but what I really loved from this display was the way they casually draped the burlap on the table.  Again, loving burlap (in many forms).

Love their creative way of displaying all those handkerchiefs.

They most have gotten the memo on how HOT silhouettes are right now!

    White and lace?  YES!

    It's a tree, with bling--LOVE.

A couple of things here: notice the fabulous, distressed door headboard--love!  Also, white and ruffles--love!

Burlap again.  This time they had added a trip to some burlap and gave it a classy look as a tablecloth.

Ok, so I might not LOVE this but its made entirely of wood, and I'm loving all things wood (branches, trees, tree stumps, etc) lately.  :)

Just love the "suit case as a table" thing.

    Burlap bags.  Green.  Yes.

White/cream, distress metal and a little bit of green--love.

    I want this table.

    Another view.

They had GORGEOUS chandeliers.  Don't know if I'd ever use one...well, actually, I think I totally would!  Who am I kidding?!  :)

    Another one.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by!  If you are ever in Waco and love vintage wares, you NEED to stop by this store!!!  Here is a link one more time: Bloom & Bee Swanky.

    Blessings,

    "Sew" Fun Blog Hop

    Hi, everyone!
Today members of Gina K's Design Team have come together to host a hop with sewing as the center theme. Along the hop you will find a variety of sewing techniques from hand sewing to faux sewing!

If you came from Giovana Smith's blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV  where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop.
Now here is my card using "Faux Stitching"!
That fabulous "faux" stitching came straight from Tami Mayberry's "In Stitches" stamp set.  I absolutely love it!     I do love my sewing maching but sometimes it's nice to just be able to do some "faux" stitching and save time! This set totally makes that possible!
Here is a pic of the set:
I recently got my hands on some of the new Spellbinders dies too, and the result is that beautiful flower + leaves+ gorgeous tag underneath!

Well, thanks so much for stopping by!
Head on over to my friend Jennie Harper's blog to see what she's sharing with you today!

    Have a wonderful day!
    Janice :)
