StampTV Technique Highlight Blog Hop

Hello!  Welcome to the StampTV

Technique Highlight Blog Hop!

If you've come from the sweet Jennie Harper's blog, you're in the right place!  If not, make sure to start over at StampTV to not miss out on all the lovely inspiration!

The Gina K Design Team has come up with some fabulous cards featuring many techniques found on StampTV.  If you haven't checked StampTV out, you totally need to!  Not only is there fabulous inspiration but Gina, the DT and many others but it also has hundreds of video tutorials on a multitude of stamping techniques!  I know I've learned so much from them.

I chose to use Gina's "Weathered Wood" technique.  You can go HERE to check out the video tutorial--it is really neat and super easy to do! First off, I'd like to show you the card I made using this technique:
I used Gina K Design's "Lovely Labels 3" stamp set to create that beautiful label.  Nina Brackett designed this set (she has a Labels1 and 2, also!).  That gorgeous paper is new from DCWV "The Tradewinds"--oh, I just love their new lines!

Now here is a closer look at my weathered wood piece as most of it is covered up by the label:
Isn't that just gorgeous?  I used three different ink pads to create this look, Tea Dye and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, and Memento Rich Cocoa to add a bit of darker color to it.  I just love it!  I was hoping more would show up on my card but I'm ok with it; the part that does show is so cool!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Gina has so many wonderful tutorials, I just know you are going to learn a lot just by visiting the other DT blogs!  Next up is the talented Giovana Smith!

Have a wonderful day!
Janice :)

Simply gorgeous Janice.
That is a great look and it reminds me so much of the weathered wood on old barns. It has a beauty that is very unique. Thanks for showing a beautiful creation using that technique.

Sooo pretty! Sometimes something that we can just get a wee peek of has more impact that something all over the front of a design. I love the contrast of your pretty blue floral with the wood and the lacey panel on top.
Thanks for sharing! :)
