Gina K Design's December Preview- Day Two!

Hello, and Welcome to Gina K Design's December Preview--Day Two!!! Today I will be previewing a stamp set called "Nesting" illustrated by Asela Hopkins.  I just fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it!  I've been into birds lately and this set has such fabulous images with that theme.  Here is my first sample:

I started off with a Chocolate Brown base then used Basic Grey's Periphery DP.  Don't you just A-DORE that nest?!?!  I just love it!!!  Ok, so the nest, the feathers off to the left and the word "Family" are all in this set!  I mean, really, don't you love it?  :)  I colored the nest with Copic markers, and can I just say that it was the easiest coloring job I've ever done?  Asela illustrated these with great shading already so the "work" is already done for you!

I went for Clean and Simply for this next card.  I heat embossed that AWESOME owl in white and then cut him out.  I added to two strips of ribbon, scored a line underneath them, stamped and embossed the Thank you sentiment (from Tami's "Block Greetings set), added some bling then adhered the owl using pop dots.  Voila!  It was one of the fastest cards I've done and I like it!  My card base is one of my favorites, Gina K Pure Luxury card stock in Kraft!  If you've never tried her PLCS, you are missing out!!!  Go HERE to pick some up.

Alright, I don't have to ask, I just know y'all are loving these sets as much as I do!  Now head on over to the other DT's blogs for more inspiration:

Gina K Design's December Preview- Day One!

Welcome to Gina K Design's December Release Preview Week!  Woo hoo!  This whole week the Gina K Design Team will be previewing her newest stamp sets and let me tell, you they are FAB!  (And can I just say how stinkin' fun it is that I get to be in on this!  I still can't believe I am a part of THE Gina K Design Team!  Crazy!)

Now, on to the previews!  Today I get the priviledge of previewing two sets, the first one being "Block Greetings" by Tami Mayberry.  When I first saw the set I thought it would be the perfect set for making tags with, so my first project with this set is just that, a set of tags:
Don't you just love that beautifully designed square?!  I chose the "A gift for you" sentiment out of the TEN greetings that come with it.  The DP is from a My Minds Eye paper stack called Signature Christmas and the brown that you see if Gina K's Pure Luxury Card Stock in "Chocolate Brown."

The next stamp set I am previewing tonight is called "Mugs and Kisses" by Melanie Muenchinger and it is
A-DO-RA-BLE and just perfect for fun winter cards! (Or really non-winter cards if you're a coffee, tea or cocoa drinker!)

Alright, let me just tell you that that mug is one of TWO adorable mugs in the set!  The steam, candy cane, both sentiments, and the oval label are ALL in this stamp set! You are going to love getting creative with these mugs with all the "extras" you can put on them!  My card base is in Chocolate Brown and I used the same My Minds Eye paper on my mug.

Thanks so much for stopping by and please make sure to stop by the other DT members blog for MORE great previews:

    Honoring Grace!

Hi, everyone! Today, we at Layers of Color get the priveledge of honoring LOC designer, Grace Nywening! Grace has been showering us with such beautiful inspiration using our Layers of Colors stamps for some time now but is now stepping down as a DT member and becoming a Friend of LOC. We don't consider this a "goodbye" but more of a "we'll see you around!"

So, to honor of this wonderful sister in the Lord, the rest of the design team at LOC have made cards in her honor. I knew for sure that I wanted to include lace, pearls and flowers on my card as when I think of Grace's beautiful work, she often times includes those three items. I chose to do something a little different and paper piered the rose petals using My Minds Eye glitter stack called "Out and About". I colored the rest using Copic markers. The beautiful rose image is from LOC's recent cling art stamp release and it is called "Cottage Rose".

I was trying to get a good short of the whole card (which is hard sometimes when you take you pictures at night, inside a dimly lit house!) and managed to get this one but the beautiful sentiment is cut off a bit. It says "Wonderful" and it is from LOC's clear art stamp set called "Flutterecent."

Stop on by the other Design Team members blogs and check out what they have created in Grace's honor and don't forget to stop by and leave Grace some love too!

    Layers of Color- Floral Frame

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a card featuring Layers of Color "Floral Frame" cling art stamp.  I entered this card into the World Card Making Contest but it wasn't chosen so I get to show it to you!  :)  This is one of many LOC stamps that coordinates with Spellbinder's Labels 16!
That beautiful flourish in the background is Layers of Color Natural Flourish art stencil.  I sponged over it in Memento Rich Cocoa.  The sentiment I used is from Gina K Designs' "Seeds of Kindness".

I used flocking to add some fun texture to the flowers.  Doesn't it give them a nice soft look?  :)

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you all have a wonderful time with family and friends this Thanksgiving!

    Blessings,
    Janice :)

Guess who's on the Gina K Design Team??!?!?!

    ME!!!!

Woo hoo!  Yippee! A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Gina Krupsky herself inviting me to join her Design Team!  After I picked my jaw up off the floor and blinked a few times to make sure I was seeing right,  I immediately replied back with an emphatic YES!!!  ;)  I couldn't believe it then and still feel a wee bit of shock now when I think about designing right along all of her super star designers!  Go HERE to check out her official announcement!

Not sure if many know this, but Stamp TV is what really hooked me into card making.  I remember taking a Copic Class at my LSS and hearing about Gina K Designs Pure Luxury card stock being great to use with Copic markers and so I went online and discovered the wonderful community that is StampTV!  I uploaded my first card in February (2010) and didn't stop there.  I discovered their challenges and just dove in, participating in each one many, many weeks.

Being apart of Gina's design team has been a dream of mine since I joined Stamp TV and I am absolutely THRILLED to have it come true!!!

So, today I thought I would show you my first ever card uploaded to my StampTV gallery, and one of my most favorite cards I made using Gina K. stamps.  :)

Here is the very first card I uploaded:
The set I used on this card was my very first Gina K set and it was illustrated by one of my favorite illustrators Nina Brackett.  I used her Lovely Labels set.

And here is one of my most favorite cards I've made using Gina K stamps:
Now, I love this card because I incorporated two of my favorite techniques in it: fine-detail paper piercing and Copic coloring!  I went a little crazy and used FOUR different stamp sets on this card: Hope Grows and Autumn Beauty by Theresa Momber, A Year of Flowers by Melanie Muenchinger, and Picture it! by Gina!

Thanks so much for stopping by and celebrating with me!  Have a wonderful day!!

CSS Alumni Blog Hop - Color Challenge

Hi, everyone!  Welcome Stamp TV's CSS Alumni Blog Hop for November!  If you here from Giovana's Blog, you've landed in the right place!  If not, click on over to StampTV so you don't miss out on all the beautiful inspiration!

Alright, this month we were challenged to create a card using these colors:

    • White or Ivory
    • Brown
    • Light Blue (Little Boy Blue, Ocean Mist, or Turquoise Sea)
    • Yellow (Lemon Drop, Sweet Corn, or Wild Dandelion)

I had a lot of fun making this card!  It is an Autumn card with non-traditional fall colors and I love it!  :)

Those beautiful Sunflowers and sentiment came from Theresa Momber's "Autumn Beauty" stamp set.  I wanted a bit more variety in my sunflowers so I used a mirror stamping block to create the sunflower that faces right.  Cool, huh?!  ;)

I colored those lovelies with my beloved Copic markers (just bought a good few to add to my collection since  Carpediem is having a MAJOR sale!  Yippee!) ;)  Bummed that my sentiment isn't showing up too bright in the pic but it is clearly visible IRL.

Thanks so much for looking!  Head on over to Jen Charboneau's Blog for some more inspiration!  :)

Layers of Color - Fruitful Harvest

Good morning, fellow bloggers! I feel like I've been gone from my blog for ages! Well, I had quite a lot going on this past week but all is now done and taken care of, so here I am once again bringing you a bit of craftiness via the web! ;) This whole week, Layers of Color has been sponsoring the 2sketches4you weekly challenge.  They are giving away the LOC "Fruitful Harvest" clear art stamp set and a stencil to one lucky winner!  You must play along as this set is one of my faves and I think you'll love it too!  :)

Here is the card I made using the 2S4Y sketch:

That beautiful fruit image is one of the many beautiful fruit images in this set!  I used Vintage Medallion art stencil to create my background, sponging it with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo.  The "joy" sentiment is my own handwriting--never thought I'd be brave enough to do that!!!  LOL!

Our theme over at LOC this week has been the "Fruit of the Spirit" based off of Galatians 5:22 which says,  "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 2gentleness and self-control." We were challenged to use this verse as our inspiration for all our creations this week so I decided to focus on "joy" for my card today as crafting brings joy to my soul and hopefully, as I share my cards with others the receive joy as well!

Here is a close up of the fruit image colored using Copic Markers (on a side note, I am now Copic Certified!  I attended the certification class this past Saturday and just had a wonderful time!  The lovely Jen Balcer taught our class and we all had a great time!  I am now officially certified to to color! LOL!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Make sure to check out these other creations from the LOC design team:
