CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi, everyone! I am excited to be participating in my very first StampTV CSS blog hop! Woo hoo! If you've been hopping along then you've just come from the ever talented Giovana Smith's blog.  If you've just joined us, then head on over to the main forum over at StampTV and start at the beginning so you don't miss out on all the beautiful cards!  ;)

So, our challenge was to make a card using this beautiful and yet, scrumptious looking set of cupcakes as our inspiration:

Here is what I came up with:

Can you guess which cupcake I based my card off of?  ;) The pink one of course! That gorgeous impression  you see is an embossing folder from Sizzix's "Damask Set."  I used Gina K Pure Luxury card stock in Chocolate Brown as my base.  The cute daisy is from the Spring Mix Stamp Set.  I added the pearls to match the piped icing dots on the cupcake!  :)  Who said card making has to take lots of time!  (If you know me, you know my creating takes for-e-ver, so I was really proud of myself for making a CAS card in just a few minutes! Yea!)

Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by, now head on over to Jen Charboneau's blog to see her beautiful take on our inspiration photo!  :)

Blessings, Janice :)

Romantic Card

Hi!  I wanted to share with you my StampTV color challenge card today and encourage you to play along!  Go here to find out more info--you could win a free stamp set!  :)
The colors for the challenge were Red, Brown, Green and Ivory.  I used Nina Brackett's "Grand Damask" stamp set to create my card.  Isn't that damask image just GORGEOUS?!  I just love it!  The DP is Mirabelle by The Paper Studio.

Thanks so much for looking!  Have a wonderful day!  :)

Gina K Designs- Design Team Challenge #2

Hey, everyone!  Today I have a second entry into the Gina K Desgin Team Challenge.  If you remember, she challenged us to make a card based on a favorite fall memory.  For this card, I was inspired by our Pumkin Patch excursions that we started taking a few years ago when we started having kids.  There is a farm not too far away from us that every Fall has a huge pumpkin patch along with corn maizes for kids and adults, hay rides, and all sorts of fun things for families.
Our boys just love playing around on the farm. It is something that we look forward to every year as the weather turns a bit cooler and leaves start falling!

For my card, I started off using GKD Pure Luxury card stock in Chocolate Brown.  I used the cute pumpkin image colored in Copics and the wheat image from Signs of Autumn stamp set.   I also used the dotted oval outline image from the Spring Mix stamp set and Nina Brackett's Fanciful Tags set that was recently released.

Well, wish me luck again!  The person Gina chooses will get to guest design for her next month as well as get her entire new release!  Oooh, fun, fun!  Thanks for looking and have a GREAT day!  :)

Gina K Designs- Design Team Challenge

Happy Sunday, Everyone! It's been a nice and restful Sunday here! Today I have a card I'm entering in the Gina K Designs Design Team Challenge. This month Gina has challenged us with creating a card based on our favorite Fall memory. It seems like every challenge Gina gives is my favorite! I love this month's challenge because Fall is my favorite season and because I have SO many great Fall memories!

Apart from the cool, crisp air that I can immediately feel when I think about fall, I also automatically see beautifully colored, fallen leaves! One fall, during my college years, I got the opportunity to study abroad in Siberia. Oh, what a wonderful time that was! I took so many pictures and on one of my picture taking excursions all I did was take pictures of all the diferent types of beautifully colored leaves. Some were of leaves that had already fallen and others were of the trees that were style in the process of changing. Of course, my album with all my pictures is packed up (with all of our moving around!) but the images are still bright in my mind.

So, my card was inspired by that memory! I included my two favorite colored leaves that I often saw on the ground, the red and yellow ones. :)
I started off with Gina K Pure Luxury Card Stock in Chocolate Brown, and then layered "Signs of Autumn" leaves that I had stamped on GKD PLC in Sweet Corn and Rocket Red. The Autumn Blessings sentiment came from "Autumn Beauty" by Theresa Momber.  That fun splotchy look on the leaves was achieved by using Tsukineko Walnut Ink spray--one of my new favorite things!

Well, wish me luck! The person Gina picks will get to be Guest Designer for the Month of October and will get the entire new GinaK Release, which I've heard through the grapevine is said to be AWESOME! Of course, I think they're always awesome! You can check out the challenge here.

Thanks so much for looking and have a blessed day! :)
