Clean and Simple

Hey, there! My second card tonight uses Card Pattern' s Sketch 65. I went with a clean and simple look because it seemed to fit well with the sketch.
I'm also entering it into StampTV's inspiration challenge which is to make a card that is inspired by summer. I went with what I love about summer through colors. The green and brown remind me of all the hiking and camping I love to do during the summer. The dark blue reminds me of those wonderful summer nights where you just sit outside and breathe in that warm, but fresh summer air. And orange reminds me of the sun, of course!

Thanks so much for looking!

CPS #168

Hi, everyone! Here I am at 1:15am uploading this card! Being a mom to little ones I have very little "alone" time and so, even though I am totally NOT a night person, night time is the only alone time I can get! ;)

Anyways, this is my entry into Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge #168. I loved they way it turned out! There is something about that color combination that I just love! Anyway, the sentiment is from GinaK Designs Spring Mix kit.

Thanks for looking!!!

CASEing Melanie Muenchinger--Arranged With Love

Hey, everyone! Tonight I have my second entry into Melanie Muenchinger's "Case Me, Please!" challenge. The card I chose to CASE is this beautiful card below that Melanie created using her Arranged With Love set. Isn't it such a beautiful stamp set?! All the images you see with the exception of the sentment and butterfly is one whole stamp!

Anyway, I changed mine up a bit in color scheme and butterfly placement. I colored the images using copic markers and punched the border using the Fiskars scalloped border punch. Thanks so much for looking!!! :)

Black, White & Grey

Here is my entry for the StampTV color challenge this past week. The colors were black, white and grey, so I just had to go with a more classic style of card. I used the from rose from lovely Melanie Muenchinger's A Year of Flowers set (a must have!).

Thanks for looking! :)

LOVE that lace!

Hi, everyone! Tonight I have a card I'm entering in a couple different challenges. I must start off and just say that I LOVE that lace! That lace you see to the right of my card is a stamp created by Nina Brackett. It is part of a stamp set called Vintage Backgrounds and it is AWESOME. My favorite kind of card is a vintage one so I'm sure you can see why I love that stamp set so much! It actually pained me a bit to have to "hide" the bottom part of the stamped lace but it looked best with just a bit of it showing. ;0) That print you see in the background is another one of the stamps found in Vintage Backgrounds--isn't it awesome!!!   I also used Nina's Lovely Labels set and her Nana's Needlework set. Yes, I am a Nina Brackett fan. ;) The DP is none other than Webster's Pages and the ribbon and card stock (pure luxury in Chocolate Brown) is GinaK.

Here is a list of the challenges I am entering this one in:

1. Card Patterns #64: this week the sponsor is none other than GinaK Designs, woo hoo!!! I used their sketch found here. One lucky random winner will get two of GinaK's stamp sets!!! Nice!

2. Stampin' Sisters in Christ: their challenge for this past week (#38) was to create a card using the colors brown, blue and white.

Have a blessed night!
Janice :)

GinaK Designs Illustrator Challenge entry #3

Good afternoon everyone! Today I have my third entry in the GinaK Designs Illustrator challenge. I used Asela Hopkin's "Sew Pretty" stamp set, which I just adore!!! I love the vintage feel to this set so much!

I thought that the movie Julie & Julia would be just the perfect inspiration for my card using the "Sew Pretty" set. Below is my card using the cooking theme which is what the movie Julie & Julia is all about, and below that is a fun scene where Julia is trying practicing cutting onions so that she could sho those men in her class that she WAS capable! ;)

Thanks for looking and drop a comment to let me know what you think! :) Wish me luck!

GinaK Designs Illustrator Challenge Entry #2

Alright, my second entry for the GinaK Designs Illustrator Challenge was inspired by the AWESOME movie "Sense and Sensibility."  I love pretty much all of the Jane Austin movies that have come out (of course, the books are even better!) so, I could have chosen any one of them for my inspiration!  They are all so fun and romantic and of course, since they are set way back in the day they have that vintage-y feel and that is what I was tried to portray in my card: a fun romantic and vintage feel.
Here one of my favorite scenes from the movie:

And here is my entry using the lovely Nina Brackett's Vintage Background set which was just PERFECT for this challenge.   I also used her Lovely Labels set.  :)

Thanks for looking!!!  :)

May Illustrator Challenge at StampTV!

Hello! I've made it back from Myrtle Beach and quickly got busy on this month's Illustrator Challenge for Gina K designs. The challenge was to make a card using one of her new releases for the month of April based on your "favorite movie." Gina will pick a winner and they will get to be a guest designer the following month and will receive the entire new May release!!! Of course, I would be thrilled beyond words to be one of her guest designers!!! Wish me luck!!! :)

Ok, so I am a bit embarrassed to admit this but... I am a Twilight fan. Eeeks! I said it! I was wrangled in to seeing the first movie with my teeny bopper niece after my mother-in-law actually gave it a good review (and she's definitely NOT a big fan of vampires and creepy things like that--and neither am I!). And, you know, it was cheesy, yes and corny at times, yes, but I really did like it! Of course, what I liked most about it was the beautiful scenery there was in just about every scene. ANYWAY, as I was thinking about which movie I could make a card out of from Tami Mayberry's Oh Boy set, I thought of Bella's truck! The little truck image is a perfect match! I cut the trees with my Gazelle adding a bit of detail to them with my copic markers. The moon and truck of course are from the Oh Boy set.

So, here is a picture of Bella's truck and my card below it! If you're a Twilight fan then you will totally get the scene I created, fog and all! :)

Let me know what you think and wish me luck!  I have three more entries so keep checking back!  :)

CASEing Melanie Muenchinger

I just recently started following Melanie Muenchinger's blog, and have really enjoyed her creations, but also her personality. There is something really sincere in the way she presents herself and I find it very refreshing! If you've never visited her before, go and check out this fun challenge she has going. The challenge is simply to CASE (copy and steal everything) one of her beautiful cards but change the colors or something about it. One SUPER lucky person will get some fun stamps (her new release for next month!!!) and be a designing friend of hers for the next month. Woo hoo!  Hey, Melanie, pick me, pick me!  ;)

So, the card above is my attempt at CASEing her, it is based on this card here  below:
As you can see, I pretty much kept the design the same down to coloring the edges with copics and not adding a paper mat.  My change, I think is pretty obvious: the colors!  :)  I love the "romantic" vintage colors of red, brown and tan so I went with that color scheme and a verse that I find so encouraging!  I did arrange my branches a bit differently, having them stick out a bit more.

Thanks so much for looking!  Have wonderful Saturday!!!
