StampTV Blast from the Past Challenge

Hey, everyone! I'm submitting this card in the StampTV Blast from the Past challenge. We were to use the "Spotlighting" technique shown here on StampTV. I'd never used that technique before but I had fun doing it! It's kind of a different technique; kinda artsy. Anway, I used Theresa Momber's stamp from her Autumn Beauty set. She is a way talented designer. Check out her blog here. Let me know whatcha think of it! :)

Stamp TV Color Challenge

Hi, everybody! I've just been so inspired to create the past few days. Of course, I think its been spurred on by the GinaK Illustrator BlogHop that is currently going on! There is a chance to design for her for the month of March and I would be so thrilled to get that chance. So, I create and create and create and am having so much fun (have missed some much needed sleep but hey, whaddya do?).

So, here is my entry for the color challenge over at StampTV. The challenge was to use metallics. The reason my photo is a bit "shiny" is because I used metallic brown and ivory on this card. I also used the most adored Webster's Pages paper in "Tranquility" from their new Classical Garden Collection. I mean, really, love, love, love Webster's pages. Don't you just adore that bird in the corner? The cute flower/branch embellishment is from K&Co. And, of course, by now you must recognize my most favorite stamp/stamp set, Nina Brackett's Lovely Labels. What can I say? Their just addicting! :) Let me know if you like it! :)

GinaK inspiration Challenge at StampTV

Ok, so I must be on a roll today! Two cards in one day, woo hoo! Something's inspirin' me, not sure what! Maybe its the thought at having a chance to join the GinaK DT--hey, that's pretty inspiring in my book! :0) Anyway, check out the challenge here. What I like most about this card is the color combo. Green, red, and black with some yellow--just fun! And of course, when you add a Nina Brackett Lovely Labels stamp to it, how can it not look good? This is one of my favorites (yes, I have quite a few from this set!).

Well, I think I've put my Russian studies off long enough and should probably get busy with that now that its 11pm-ish here! Geese, so maybe not the best use of my time tonight but hey, I had fun! :) As always, let me know what you think! :)

Oooh, I forgot to mention that they gorgeous sunflower stamp is also from a GinaK designer, her name is Theresa Momber and she is a whiz at coloring with Copic markers. She out her blog here for some more inspiration.

Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday and StampTv Illustrator Blog Hop info

Hey, everyone! Here is a card I made today for the Moxie Fab World Trigger Tuesday! They show a beautiful card and we were to use it as inspiration. Go and check out their site to see the card, it is so fun!

Ok, so my FAVORITE thing about this card is the way fun, textured, and velvet pink ribbon! Isn't so cool!!! I found it at HL on clearance---I ended up getting some in green too, so plan on seeing it on a card later this week! Also, the sentiment is from the Nina Brackett Lovely Labels stamp set and the DP is Basic Grey. Let me know what you think! :)

Stamp TV Illustrator Blog Hop

StampTV will be having one large blog hop this month (starting Feb. 25th)to celebrate all 8 of the new February stamp sets and they are inviting us to play along. Their illustrators along with their Design Team will be creating a project based on a specific challenge that Gina has created for them. The challenge is to create a card or project using a newly released stamp set and any two of the new card stock colors being released. They will all post their projects on February 25th. Then, it's our turn. You can choose any newly released stamp set and play along using the mister linky on Gina's blog that will go up the night of the hop. There will be a HUGE prize package that one lucky winner will receive including an opportunity to join the Gina K. Design's team. I mean, can it get any better than that?! I would absolutely LOVE to be apart of GinaK's design team! I mean, I really love her style and her stamps and recently bought some of her Pure Luxury card stock and was so surprised by the nice weight of the paper! Ok, so basically I would be in paper crafters heaven if I were chosen! Is is a long shot with all the amazing talent out there, well, probably BUT a girls gotta try! :)

Anyway, stop on over to StampTV and check out some of Gina's video tutorials. They are really helpful and she explains everything so clearly. Besides all that, she has so many ideas and beautiful projects to inspire you with!

Stampin' Sister in Christ Challenge #27

Okie dokie, here's another card using Nina Brackett's fabulous Lovely Labels stamps! I'm sure I sound like a broken record but I really do love this stamp set--it just lends itself so well to making beautiful, elegant cards! For this card I used Basic Grey's LilyKate DP, one of Nina Brackett's Lovely Lables stamps and the flourish is a Hero Arts stamp.

Belive it or not, this was the first time I tried sewing on a card! I've sewed on some scrapbook layouts but not yet on cards. The was also the first time I rounded the corners on a card, ha! I like the look rounded corners give; kind of softer and more "flow-y."

"Defender of the Fatherland Day" Cake

Well, in class we learned that today is "Defender of the Fatherland Day" in Russia.  We are holding a surprise party for all or our fellow male students to celebrate them.  Originally, and maybe still is (not sure) it was a day to celebrate those men in the armed forces in Russia but now (if I am remembering what my teacher told us accurately) it is kind of a catch all type of holiday for celebrating MEN!  Apparently, they get gifts and are treated especially nice on this day (Feb. 23).  So, I of course volunteered to make a cake and this is what I came up with.  The army men and grass are made out of chocolate candy melts.  I love candy melts!  They are so easy to use!  All I did was put wax paper over a picture of the army guys and traced it with the chocolate.  That's it!  Refrigerate them for a minute so that they harden before you put them on a cake.

Card Patterns: Sketch 52

Hope everyone has had a great Saturday! It was just beautiful today in Columbia, SC! It finally got into the 60's and we celebrated by going to the zoo. :)

I had time to make another card today. :) A couple at our language school just had a baby! They didn't find out the sex early so they were happily surprised to have a baby GIRL! If you know me, then you know that I've wanted a baby girl since I was pregnant with my first! I kind of live vicariously through my friends that have girls--I was just thrilled for them! Anyway, this is the card I made to congratulate them.

I've also entered it into the Card Pattern's Blog sketch 52 challenge. Leave a comment if you like it! :)

Hey, everyone! Here are a few layouts I made today! One of my itty bitties was sick so I had lots of extra time to play! :) I used Nina Brackett's Lovel Labels stamp set on both of these layouts. I even took a trip down memory lane and made my own designer paper on the second LO using a couple of her stamps! As always, let me know what you think! :)

Nina Brackett and Lovely Labels Stamp Set

Hey, Friends! Nina Brackett's Lovely Labels Stamp set came in the mail today, and I couldn't have been more thrilled!! Woo hoo! I'm so excited to show y'all the first card I made using one of her stamps from the Lovely Labels set--the set is just awesome! It coordinates with the Nestabilities Labels 1, 4, 8, and 9 perfectly!!! For this card I used one of the stamps that coordinate with Nestabilities Labels 1 and also, one of the great sentiments that come with the set. I had a hard time trying to decide which stamp to use because they are all super fun! I guess I'll just have to make more projects, darn! ;) Well, as always, let me know what you think! Blessings on your day!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #26

Here is my entry for the SSCC #26! I love this paper line by Basic Grey (Infuse)! You have to forgive me for the bright white! I am not a pro at picture taking and I don't have the nicest of camera's so sometimes it's great and more often than not it's not! ;) Oh well! I tried to adjust the brightness in Picasaand it helped a bit but it made my browns look darker than they are in real life. Whadda ya do?! :) Let me know what you think!
