SSCC #19 -Vintage New year

Well, here is my attempt at a vintage type card. It was going so well until I stamped the sentiment. It at one point said, "Let's Celebrate" at the top right, but it didn't look right so I tried to cover it up with a squarish piece of paper (which I was able to kinda sorta pull off but you can still tell it was a cover up). Then, I tried to free hand "Happy New Year" and that looked horrible so I thought I would try to write over it in a white pen in hopes of the brown and white mixing well so that you can't see it. That really didn't work. Finally, I wrote happy new year again and said, just let it go! It had the hopes of looking really nice, now it just looks sloppy. Oh, well! I will keep trying! I WILL have professional looking cards one day, I will! :)

Baby Shower Invite

Here is a pic of the Baby Shower invites I made for a friend. I am most likely going to emboss some sort of corner design in the corners but I thought I'd post a pic of it anyway, finished or not! :) I used Basic Grey's sultry line for the DP and colored the cute little birdie with my lovely Copic markers. I'll post again the final result with the embossing added. Enjoy your Sunday!

Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge #18

So, I've decided to once a week or so do an online card challenge. Basically, there are different websites that will post weekly, monthly, sometimes daily challenges for people to participate in either for some sort of "prize" or simply just for the fun of saying your were chosen as that weeks winner or whatnot. Anyway, this week I am participating in the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #18. You can go here: to find out more about them if it so interests you! :) It was a basic "sketch" challenge since it is the week of Christmas. A sketch challenge is when they post a sketch of what the card should look like and you do your best to create a card that followers the design they came up with.

Here is the sketch they gave followed by my take on it. What do ya think?

Well, I wasn't chosen for the SNSS Design Team (no surprise there as my submissions where way below par--cute yes, but not amazing) BUT I am honored that they have offered me to be a guest designer for there digital stamp images! How fun is that? Basically, I will be given a month to be there "Guest Designer" and during that month will get to design cards using their"digis" (digital stamp images that you would print and then use on a card) Isn't that fun? I can't wait start designing!

Sweet and Sassy Stamps Design Team Call

Okie dokie, here are my submissions (well, kind of anyway-long story that I'll tell at another time) for the Sweet and Sassy Stamps DT call. What do you think? If you can ignore the non-perfectness of the lines then I think they turned out cute. My favorite is the one I at first thought wasn't going to like, the adorable little mouse one. If you're a stamper, check out the Sweet and Sassy Stamps website here: I came across this store as I was searching for stamps with scripture on them. I was pleasantly surprised at finding not just one but a few companies in the crafting world that are Christ-based. I LOVE that I can use my crafting talents to bless people and to encourage people in Lord!

My inward struggle for STABLITLY

Ok, so I've been checking out all sorts of talented ladies's craft blogs and now feel like a complete amateur. All of their cards look so absolutely beautiful and their lines are straight and perfect. I submitted a few cards yesterday for a Design Team call for an online stamp store and I thought they turned out alright. My main disappointment is that since a lot of my crafting supplies are packed away somewhere, I was REALLY limited in what I could do, aghhhhhhhhh! Soooooooooooo, I was forced to make handmade oval and circle templates in order to manually cut out the shapes I wanted. And, even though I can cut a straight line fairly well, you can still tell it was cut by hand and NOT perfect. If you know me, you know that I am into the details so that kind of thing REALLY bothers me. Oh well! What can I do? Not much, at this point in my life. :) When things settle down I will have my craft space with my crafting supplies at hand and then I can create away unhampered! :) Does that sound snobbish? I hope not. If you are a crafter or an artist or any kind of hobbyist then you understand.

Well, I will be post again shortly with the name of the store I am applying for and the cards I submitted!
